STRATEGI PENGELOLAAN KELAS MELALUI PEMBERIAN REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT PADA PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK DI KELAS 3 MIN 2 KOTA MALANG

Abstract


Classroom management is an important component in creating an effective, orderly, and fun learning process. This research aims to describe the class management strategy carried out by 3rd grade teachers in MIN 2 Malang City through giving rewards and punishments during thematic learning. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interview, and documentation. Research results show that rewarding strategies are carried out through verbal praise, giving stickers, small gifts, and recognition in front of the class. Meanwhile, punishment is given through verbal reprimand, additional duties, and summons of parents in case of repeated violations. The application of rewards and punishments is proven to increase learning motivation, discipline, and form positive student behavior in the thematic learning process. This strategy also has a significant impact on the creation of a more conducive and enjoyable classroom environment.
