PENGEMBANGAN SOFT SKILLS SISWA MELALUI KEGIATAN KAMIS KREASI SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR
Abstract
The problem addressed in this study stems from the lack of support and facilities for developing students’ soft skills at SDN Bulukerto 02 Batu, such as self-confidence, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Many students are less motivated to participate in self-development activities, partly due to the limited opportunities for self-expression aligned with their interests. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and results of developing students’ soft skills through the “Kamis Kreasi” (Creative Thursday) program as an effort to improve non-academic skills.A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, and data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results show that (1) the planning of Kamis Kreasi is carried out collaboratively by the principal, teachers, students, and parents, taking into account students’ interests and talents; (2) the implementation is held weekly, inclusive, and accommodates various forms of artistic and cultural expression; and (3) the program has a positive impact on improving soft skills, including self-confidence, creativity, communication, and teamwork. The main obstacle identified is the lack of supporting facilities such as rehearsal space and a proper stage. In conclusion, Kamis Kreasi is effective in developing primary school students’ soft skills when supported by participatory planning, consistent implementation, and adequate facilities.
