Abstract

Drawing is an activity that is especially popular with children. In children's drawings, various unique features are found and show the development of children at each age. This is in accordance with the theory of fine arts development put forward by Viktor Lowenfeld and Lambert Brittain. This theory explains one of the things about the childhood period, works during the chart period are transitional works from pure art and are influenced by the knowledge gained during school, this is unique and interesting to study further. The focus of this research is the analysis of the results of fine art works in elementary schools in the form of drawing activities at MI Bustanul Ulum grades one to three in the chart period. So the aim of this research is to describe the process of learning to draw and also analyze students' drawings based on the theory of fine arts development. This research uses a qualitative approach and analysis method for the study of Edmud Burke Feldman's theoretical images. Image analysis is a form of effort to research the aesthetic values in children's art drawings which have the characteristics of forming scratches, scribbles or play of color based on the theory of children's fine art development. Analysis of children's drawings at MI Bustanul Ulum found that in the pre-bagan age range of 7-9 years in grades I, II and III, there were deep differences based on developmental theory, from class I, which was still influenced by the pre-bagan period, to class III, which began to show signs of the early realist period. And the learning used in each class is different, this influences the way students imagine.
