STRATEGI GURU DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


The fact that many elementary and middle school children still do not understand the value of reading and show little interest in reading the material they are learning is the driving force behind this research. This will have the effect of lowering reading interest among elementary and middle school children, leading to poor reading engagement. Thus, in order to boost kids' enthusiasm in reading, instructors must have a suitable and adequate technique.This thesis's primary research question is (1) How do instructors at SDN Kunir Kidul 04 want to boost their students' reading interest? (2) How do instructors at SDN Kuir Kidul 04 employ strategies to increase students' interest in reading? (3) What are the things that prevent instructors at SDN Kunir Kidul 04 from encouraging their pupils to read more?The study's findings indicate: (1) Teacher preparation, specifically in the form of tactics, to boost pupils' enthusiasm in reading. The planning process for this involves teachers introducing books to students, motivating or encouraging them to read, assigning resumes that cover 5W+1H, creating questions whose answers are found in the material, searching for articles or clippings that are relevant to the subject matter being taught, and working together with the parents of the students. (2) When a teacher implements strategies to increase students' interest in reading, they are doing so in line with the plan; for example, they assign resumes, create clippings, pose questions, and invite students to share anecdotes about what they have heard or read. (4). The limited amount of books in classrooms, the lack of diversity in the literature, and the fact that some pupils are still illiterate are the things that prevent instructors from encouraging their students to read.
