IMPLEMENTASI REWARD AND PUNISHMENT DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS V MI AL MAARIF 02 SINGOSARI MALANG

Abstract


Learning motivation is an impulse within students, both external and internal. Learning motivation is important for students to maintain the intensity and enthusiasm for learning, so that learning goals can be achieved optimally. The lack of learning motivation can affect a student's self-quality because insufficient motivation can trigger laziness or even reluctance to study. This phenomenon occurs in all subjects, including Natural Sciences, taught at MI Al Maarif 02 Singosari Malang in the fifth grade. Therefore, the school strives to improve the declining learning motivation of students by employing various learning methods and strategies that can stimulate their motivation. Based on the observations conducted in MI Al Maarif 02 Singosari Malang, fifth-grade class, the school implements the reward and punishment as one of the strategies used to address the issue of students' declining learning motivation. To achieve this goal, qualitative research is conducted. Data collection procedures involve observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The implementation of the reward and punishment in fifth-grade Natural Sciences classes to enhance the learning motivation of students at MI Al Maarif 02 Singosari Malang has proven to be quite effective as an external motivational stimulus for students.
