STRATEGI GURU DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BACA TULIS AL-QUR’AN DI KELAS IV SDI BANI HASYIM

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited role of Al-Qur'an learning in schools to enhance students' proficiency in reading and writing Al-Qur'an according to the rules of tajwid (the science of recitation). The influence of modern technology also affects students' interest in reading and writing Al-Qur'an in the school environment. The absence of specific strategies to delve into reading and writing Al-Qur'an in schools becomes the focus of this study. The research aims to address the following questions: (1) What are the methods used by teachers to improve the reading and writing skills of Al-Qur'an for fourth-grade students at SDI Bani Hasyim? (2) What are the implications of teachers' strategies in enhancing the reading and writing skills of Al-Qur'an for fourth-grade students at SDI Bani Hasyim? (3) What are the obstacles faced by teachers in improving the reading and writing skills of Al-Qur'an for fourth-grade students at SDI Bani Hasyim? This study adopts a qualitative approach, and data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To ensure data validity, triangulation of sources and methods is utilized along with reference materials. The findings of the study reveal that (1) teachers use lecture, question and answer, and practice as methods to enhance the reading and writing skills of Al-Qur'an for fourth-grade students at SDI Bani Hasyim. (2) The implications of teachers' strategies are reflected in the coordination of teachers by the school's principal during the learning process, and the role of teachers in providing knowledge and guidance to students in reading and writing Al-Qur'an. (3) The obstacles faced by teachers are related to the lack of specific strategies from the school, limited time for learning Al-Qur'an in school, and students' insufficient understanding of tajwid rules.
