PENGGUNAAN MEDIA AMPLOP MISTERI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MAHARAH QIRO’AH SISWA MADRASAH ALIYAH BILINGUAL KOTA BATU

The teaching of Maharah Qirā’ah requires students not only to read Arabic texts fluently but also to comprehend their content accurately. However, in practice, Maharah Qirā’ah instruction is often conducted monotonously, resulting in limited student engagement during the learning process. Therefore, an instructional medium that can create a more active, engaging, and interactive learning environment is needed. One alternative is the Mystery Envelope medium, which combines game elements with students' direct participation in learning activities. This study aims to describe the use of the Mystery Envelope medium in Maharah Qirā’ah instruction and to analyze the positive and negative aspects of its implementation among tenth-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Bilingual Kota Batu. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Arabic language teachers and tenth-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Bilingual Kota Batu. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the use of mystery envelope media in maharah qirā’ah learning was carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The learning process was conducted through activities such as reading together, randomly selecting envelopes, reading texts, and explaining the content of the reading. Mystery envelope media made the learning process more interactive and involved students directly. The positive aspects found include students’ active involvement, a more lively learning atmosphere, challenging learning experiences, interaction in understanding texts, and students’ courage in reading Arabic texts. Meanwhile, the negative aspects found were that the media had not fully accommodated students’ different abilities, had not fully supported independent learning, and required more flexible time management.
