IMPLEMENTASI METODE JIGSAW DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MAHARAH QIRO’AH DI MTS AL-MA'ARIF 01 SINGOSARI MALANG

This research was motivated by students' low interest and ability in reading Arabic texts, as well as the need for a learning strategy that could enhance students' participation and cooperation in Maharah Qira'ah learning. One of the methods used to address this issue is the Jigsaw Method. This study aimed to examine the implementation of the Jigsaw Method in teaching Maharah Qira'ah and to identify its positive and negative aspects among ninth-grade students at MTs Al-Ma'arif 01 Singosari Malang. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Arabic language teachers and ninth-grade students at MTs Al-Ma'arif 01 Singosari Malang. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Jigsaw Method in teaching Maharah Qira'ah was carried out through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the implementation stage, students were divided into home groups and expert groups to read and discuss the assigned reading materials before explaining them to their home groups. The application of this method was found to increase students' participation, cooperation, sense of responsibility, self-confidence, concentration, and comprehension of Arabic texts. In addition, the learning atmosphere became more engaging and less monotonous. However, several challenges were identified, including the need for more instructional time, differences in students' abilities, dependence on group members, and the necessity of effective classroom management by the teacher to ensure the success of the learning process. Overall, the Jigsaw Method had a positive impact on supporting the teaching and learning of Maharah Qira'ah at MTs Al-Ma'arif 01 Singosari Malang.
