EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ARAB MELALUI PLATFORM INSTAGRAM REELS TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PENGUASAAN ADAWATUL ISTIFHAM DI MA AL-MA’ARIF SINGOSARI MALANG
Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the educational process from conventional face-to-face instruction to technology-assisted learning. One of the digital platforms that has gained considerable attention is Instagram Reels, which provides short-form videos that support the concept of microlearning. Through concise, engaging, and visually attractive content, Instagram Reels has the potential to enhance students' motivation and facilitate language learning. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding adawāt al-istifhām (Arabic interrogative particles), which are essential components of Arabic grammar and communication. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the implementation of Instagram Reels as a learning medium and to measure its effectiveness in improving students' mastery of adawāt al-istifhām at MA Al-Ma'arif Singosari Malang. This study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of tenth-grade students at MA Al-Ma'arif Singosari Malang, and a purposive sample of 37 students from class X-3 was selected. Data were collected through a pretest, three treatment sessions using Instagram Reels, a posttest, classroom observation, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The observation results indicated a continuous improvement in students' classroom participation and engagement, increasing from 70% during the first meeting to 80% in the second meeting and reaching 90% in the third meeting. Furthermore, the mean score increased from 69.35 in the pretest to 86.51 in the posttest. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test produced an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which was lower than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. These findings demonstrate that Instagram Reels is an effective learning medium for improving students' understanding of adawāt al-istifhām and promoting more active participation in Arabic language learning among tenth-grade students at MA Al-Ma'arif Singosari Malang.
