PENGARUH STRATEGI TA’BIR MUSHAWWAR DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ARAB TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA SISWA KELAS XI DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-UMM ASWAJA KOTA BOGOR

This research is motivated by students' low speaking skills in Arabic language learning, particularly in expressing ideas orally fluently and accurately. The objectives of this research are: 1) to describe the implementation of the Ta’bir Mushawwar strategy in teaching Arabic speaking skills to eleventh-grade students of SMA Islam Al-Umm; 2) to determine the influence of the Ta’bir Mushawwar strategy on students’ speaking skills.
This research uses a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design, namely the pretest-posttest control group model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and oral tests. Data analysis employed normality testing, homogeneity testing, and paired sample t-test. The findings show that: 1) The implementation of the Ta’bir Mushawwar strategy was carried out through systematic stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the implementation stage, students observed pictures, engaged in group discussions, and presented oral descriptions, with the teacher acting as facilitator and providing feedback. Observation of student activity showed an increase in scores from 23 (46%) in the first session, to 32 (64%) in the second session, and 43 (86%) in the third session (categorized as “very good”); 2) There was a significant improvement in the average speaking skill scores of the experimental class, from 12.72 (51%) in the pretest to 20.24 (81%) in the posttest, while the control class improved from 11.39 (46%) to 15.68 (63%); 3) The t-test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the Ta’bir Mushawwar strategy had a positive and significant effect on improving students’ Arabic speaking skills.
