PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MAHAROH KALAM DENGAN METODE MUHAWAROH SISWA KELAS 5 MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH AL – MA’ARIF 03 SINGOSARI MALANG

Abstract

The research was conducted by researchers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Ma'arif 03 Singosari Malang using a classroom action research design. The researchers chose the research title “Improving Speaking Skills Using the Conversation Method for Fifth-Grade Students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Ma'arif 03 Singosari Malang.” The reason for this is that the Arabic speaking skills of fifth-grade students at the school have not yet reached the set learning objectives, which are to respond by asking and answering with simple sentences. This research was conducted with the following objectives: to explain the methods used by teachers in previous learning, explain how the muhawaroh method is applied, and know the improvement in students' Arabic speaking skills using the conversation method. The research method used by the researcher was classroom action research, which aims to improve the quality of learning in the classroom, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. The learning process was conducted in two cycles, beginning with a pre-test. The learning outcomes were as follows: the pre-test assessment achieved a total score of 895 with an average of 32 and a success rate of 32%. After the first cycle of learning activities, students' learning outcomes improved, with a total score of 1,745, an average of 65, and a success rate of 65%. The results of cycle 2 reached a total of 2,042 points, with an average score of 72.92 and a success rate of 73%. The assessment was based on students' accuracy in using interrogative sentences, sentence comprehension, pronunciation, and fluency. This improvement was further supported by interviews with students regarding their views on the method used and their feelings after learning with the conversation method. In conclusion, the conversation method can improve the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidayah Al-Maarif 03 Singosari Malang.
