This research explores the learning difficulties experienced by eighth-grade B students at SMP Modern Al-Rifa’ie in studying Arabic, including issues in grammar (nahwu and sharaf), limited vocabulary (mufrodat), challenges in reading and pronunciation, and low motivation and self-confidence. The study aims to: 1) Identify students’ learning difficulties in Arabic; 2) Examine teacher strategies in addressing these challenges. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, involving data condensation, display, and verification through triangulation and prolonged observation. The findings reveal two main aspects: 1) Students struggle with linguistic elements grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and psychological factors like low motivation and frequent textbook changes; 2) Teachers address these issues through strategies such as mastering teaching materials, using engaging media, employing singing for vocabulary memorization, implementing small group learning, giving regular motivation, evaluations, and remedial sessions. These methods have effectively improved students’ understanding and confidence in Arabic, although some strategies still need refinement.
