Abstract

 

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the khitobah Arabiyah activity strategy in improving students' maharah kalam (speaking skills) at MI Nurul Huda Pajaran, Malang Regency. The background of this research is based on the low speaking ability of students in Arabic due to the lack of communicative teaching methods. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The sample consisted of 25 students from grades II to V who actively participated in khitobah activities. Data were collected through speaking skill tests (pre-test and post-test), observation, and documentation. The results showed an increase in the average score from 50.3 (pre-test) to 64.4 (post-test). A statistical test using the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between before and after the implementation of the strategy. Therefore, it can be concluded that the khitobah Arabiyah strategy is effective in improving students' maharah kalam.
