PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DIFERENSIASI BERBASIS MEDIA VISUAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA SISWA PADA SISWA SMP AN-NUR BULUAWANG

The low reading skills of students at SMP An-Nur Bululawang are a major challenge in the learning process. Differences in students' learning styles, interests, and abilities require teachers to implement approaches that accommodate this diversity. Differentiated learning offers a solution by adjusting strategies based on students' readiness, interests, and learning profiles. This study aims to describe the implementation of a visual media-based differentiated learning model to improve reading skills and identify the challenges faced by teachers. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study found that this model significantly improved reading skills. The average test score increased from 81 to 96, indicating a 0.19% improvement. Visual media played an important role in enhancing learning outcomes. However, teachers experienced obstacles, such as limited time to prepare suitable media and the complexity of addressing varied learning needs. Despite these challenges, the model positively impacted students’ reading skills at SMP An-Nur Bululawang.
