PENGARUH LATARBELAKANG PENDIDIKAN MAHASISWA JURUSAN PENDIDIKAN BAHASA ARAB UNIVERSITAS ISLAM MALANG ANGKATAN 2020 PADA HASIL PEMBELAJARAN MAHAROH QIROAH

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of the educational background of students of the Department of Arabic Language Education, University of Islam Malang (Unisma) on the results of the reading skills test (maharah qiroah). Students involved in this study come from various educational backgrounds, such as madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and public schools. The method used was a quantitative survey, with 26 students of the class of 2020 as a sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression to identify the influence of educational background on reading skill outcomes. The results of the study show that students who come from madrasah or pesantren tend to get higher scores than those with a public school background. The main factors influencing reading skills outcomes include intensive Arabic learning experiences, support from teachers, and a curriculum that emphasizes Arabic language literacy skills. In contrast, students from public schools face more challenges in reading skills due to the lack of exposure to Arabic in their previous education. This study provides insight for educational institutions to consider differences in students' educational backgrounds in designing a more adaptive Arabic language learning program. These findings are expected to help improve students' academic outcomes and Arabic language skills more evenly.
