Abstract

Vertical plant cultivation technology or wall planter bags can be used to support the optimization of plant cultivation in yards in urban areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the combination of fertilizer types on the growth and yield of lettuce in the wall planter bag and to determine the optimal placement of planting rows in the wall planter bag for the growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and to determine the interaction between fertilizer types and treatments. the position of the planting medium to the lettuce plants. This study used a wall verticulture design with wall planter bags made from woven high density polyethylene with five levels of planting rows with a planting bag size of 10 x 10 x 15 cm and a distance between planting bag holes of 25 x 35 cm. Using Split Plot Design in Randomized Group Design. The type of media fertilizer used is compost, urea and ZA. The research was conducted for 3 months, from June to August 2022 in the yard and the Physiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Malang. The results of this study analysis of variance at the end of the observation at 40 HST obtained plant length, number of leaves and leaf area of 18.40 cm, 8.67 strands and 681.32 cm2, respectively. The chlorophyll content parameter shows the best average value of 23.23 μg/cm2. In observing the parameters of total plant fresh weight and total dry weight of plants, the M1B5 treatment showed the same response with an average value of 36.67 g/plant and 25.13 g/plant. In observing the parameters of stover weight and root weight, the average was 340.67 g/plant and 1.06 g/plant. The M2B1 treatment harvest index showed the best value of 33.66%.
