Abstract

ABSTRACT

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a food crop and as a source of carbohydrates that is widely used by the community. This study aims to obtain the optimum dosage of a combination of phosphorus and zinc fertilizers that can increase growth productivity and yield in corn plants. This research was carried out for 110 days after planting starting on December 24 2021 to April 6 2022. This research was carried out on farmer's land in Tegalgondo Village, Karangploso sub-district, Malang Regency. The design used was a factorial randomized block design with two factors. the first factor: Phonska fertilizer with levels P0 : (control), P1: (350 kg/ha), P2: (450 kg/ha), P3: (550 kg/ha) and the second factor is the provision of Zinc fertilizer (EDTA – ZnNa2) with levels namely: M0 : (Control) M1 : (5 mg), M2 : (10 mg), M3 : (15 mg). Of the two factors, there were 16 combinations for each treatment, repeated 3 times using 3 samples for each treatment. The results of this study showed that the application of phonska and zinc fertilizers in general showed an interaction on the growth and yield of corn plants seen in the parameters of wet stover weight, dry stover weight, seed weight per plant and seed weight per hectare. The best combined fertilizer application was found in the P3M1  treatment (550 kg/ha of phosphorus fertilizer and 5 mg of zinc fertilizer) during the growth process of corn crops, which produced 5,12 tons/ha.

Keywords: Corn Bisi 2 F1, phonska and zinc fertilizer
