Abstract


Fertilization aims to add nutrients contained in the soil that plants need. The use of K fertilizer with the right dose is an effort to increase crop yields and quality. This study aims to study the effect of various doses of KNO3 fertilizer on the yield and quality of sweet corn of paragon variety. The design used was a simple RAK with a control where the difference in KNO3 doses was a treatment consisting of 4 levels (50 kg ha-1, 100 kg ha-1, 150 kg ha-1 and 200 kg ha-1) and added with a control treatment. The results showed that the application of various doses of K fertilizer affected fresh weight of cobs per plant, fresh weight of cobs per hectare, ear diameter, hardness level, total dissolved solids and carbohydrates. The dose of KNO3 fertilizer of 179.04 kg ha-1 is the optimal dose that can provide the best yield and quality of sweet corn varieties of paragon.
